Though Norman's impending transformation into the Gold Goblin is supposedly a heroic one, there are still plenty of questions regarding just how long that will last. Following his initial appearance as the Gold Goblin in Amazing Spider-Man #13, Norman is set to star in his own Gold Goblin limited series by critically acclaimed author Christopher Cantwell and artist Lan Medina. Marvel has given readers a hint of what to expect, asking if Norman Osborn can "ever get away from the Goblin inside" even after his debut as a budding superhero.

The synopsis for Gold Goblin reads, "IT’S NOT EASY BEING...GOLD? Norman Osborn’s sins may have been cleansed, but his memories weren’t and he’s done plenty of horrific things to remember. Norman’s worked hard to avoid all things “Goblin” and to stay on the straight and narrow. Consequences in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN pushed him to try super-heroing, and he liked it. But when the media dub him the Gold Goblin, he has to start wondering – can he ever get away from the Goblin inside?"

First introduced as the Green Goblin in 1964's Amazing Spider-Man #14 written by Stan Lee and illustrated by Steve Ditko, Norman Osborn has been an indelible part of both Peter Parker and Spider-Man's respective lives. Peter's former mentor and father to his old best friend Harry, Norman has gone from an almost idyllic father figure to a twisted, tormented soul in the years since his first appearance. Despite multiple rises to and falls from prominence over the course of his decades-long career, Norman's persistent returns to form have proven that he is just as resilient as he is unpredictable. Even after seemingly being cured of his Green Goblin alter ego, Norman's relationships with the likes of Peter Parker have been irreparably strained by his villainous career.

Amazing Spider-Man #13 is written by Zeb Wells, with interior and main cover art from John Romita Jr. Amazing Spider-Man #13 goes on sale Nov. 2022. Gold Goblin features cover art by Taurin Clarke and also launches in November.
