Amazing Spider-Man, Dark Knight Rises, Brave: June 12th Comic Reel

According to Latino Review, there was the possibility for a very, very minor link between "The Avengers" and "The Amazing Spider-Man" in early development -- nothing as large as a cameo from Andrew Garfield, but definitely something that would help bridge the gap between the franchises in future installments. Latino Review spoke with producers Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach, who told the news outlet that Oscorp Tower was "this close" to becoming a part of "The Avengers" Manhattan skyline.

The Oscorp building was designed by J Michael Riva, who recently passed away from a stroke. Riva was not only a production designer on "The Amazing Spider-Man," but he also did design work for "Iron Man" and "Iron Man 2," leading to Marvel and Sony to actually have the discussion about putting Oscorp Tower into "The Avengers." Absolutely incredible. Unfortunately, it never came to pass. By the time "The Avengers'" digital version of Manhattan had been completed, the Oscorp Tower design still hadn't been finalized, so the mini-reference was scrapped.

Now, in order to dull your inevitable disappointment at the crossover that almost was, here's a new featurette of Gwen Stacy's relationship with Peter Parker. I'm surprised the studio didn't wait until Gwensday for this one.

Spinoff Online has posted a featurette on The Lizard where the character actually speaks! Crazy!

To web things up, the trailersnspots YouTube channel has posted three TV spots back to back to back for "The Amazing Spider-Man" with some new footage. Enjoy.

Head of Marvel TV Jeph Loeb and CCO Joe Quesada spoke with TV Guide about the future of Marvel animation, including the upcoming "Avengers Assemble" animated series, announced after the cancellation of "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes."

"'The Avengers' movie has been the ambassador to the world for the Marvel Universe so we want a show that has the feel and the tone and the incredible adventures like that movie," Loeb told TV Guide. "So the next project that we're working on -- and this is down in our lab, top secret, with the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents protecting us at all costs -- is 'Avengers Assemble,' which will be a brand new and really extraordinary looking animated series dealing with the Avengers in that same world."

According to Quesada, The Falcon will play a role in the upcoming series, acting as "the eyes of the viewer."

"He's a new member of the Avengers so he's walking through our stories wide-eyed and with wonder and amazed to be a part of it," Quesada said. "He's a little younger than the rest of the cast and a little greener, so he adds an interesting dimension to the team that we think will play really well with the audience."

I'm really excited for this movie -- so much so that I spent some of my off-time playing the "Fix-it Felix" game on the promotional website. Cine1 has also revealed a few new international posters for the film.
