THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN
Denis Leary chats with Starpulse (via Blastr) about the film, offering praise to star Andrew Garfield. “Most of the stunts in the movie are done live, in front of the cameras. There’s a ton of stuff. He’s just a terrific actor. I really loved working with him. I thought he was great,” he says. “Same thing with Emma [Stone]. They’re both actually more mature than I am, so that says a lot. They’re really very incredibly talented and really f***in’ professional for kids. She’s 22 years old. I don’t want to tell you what I was doing when I was 22 years old. I was very impressed by her.”

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES
Spinoff Online reports that actress Juno Temple may play Holly Robinson in the film. They quote an interview with Temple in Total Film’s print edition in which they ask her point blank about the character. Her response: “I can’t talk about that. But I think it’s going to be [frick]ing unbelievable. [Christopher Nolan] is awesome! There’s something really gentlemanly about him. He’s got an insane, incredible vision going on. Just getting the opportunity to work with him is awesome.” Not really a confirmation, but if she wasn’t playing a character like Holly Robinson, she would just say no.
Release date: July 20th, 2012
And since this is the sort of week where Total Film’s print edition has all the leads, here’s one more thanks to the lads at Comic Book Movie. Director Joss Whedon tells the magazine about managing all the actors in the film. “You might imagine it would be a giant ego-fest but there are so many stars in this movie no one’s carrying the burden of the whole film. Everyone’s been very gracious and I think they all really trust each other. I spoke to every one of them about their characters and what I was planning to do before I ever set pen to paper, so I had their input all the through. It was just a question of putting them all together and makign[sic] it work,” he explains. At this point, I suggest finding a copy of Total Film at a Barnes & Noble or something.
Directed by Joss Whedon & starring everybody, release date: May 4th, 2012

With the end of “Ouija” as a film project, I thought perhaps Ridley Scott’s “Monopoly” would take a break. Instead, Heat Vision reports writers Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski have been hired by Hasbro and Scott to write a new draft. They’re good writers with movies like “Ed Wood” and “Man on the Moon” on their resumes, but this whole board game-to-movie thing is just a bad idea. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya, bracing for the future threat of the “Sorry” movie announcement.
