Spider-Man has had many suits over the course of his 60 years in comics and adaptations, but he now returns to a fan-favorite.

Following Peter Parker's time spent in a coma due to injuries he sustained in an explosion, with the added dressing of being hit in the head by Captain America's shield while trying to return to his super heroics, Peter is training to be the Spider-Man he once was again. In a preview for The Amazing Spider-Man #87 by writer Zeb Wells and artist Carlos Gómez, Cap and Felicia Hardy aka the Black Cat are helping the wall crawler with his recovery, but their assistance comes with a caveat: he cannot wear his usual spider threads until he earns them back. This prompts Peter to once again take on the identity of the Bombastic Bag-Man!

The Bombastic Bag-Man is the name of a suit that first appeared in Marvel Comics in The Amazing Spider-Man #258, comprised of a spare Fantastic Four suit and a paper bag to cover Peter's face. Spider-Man needed the attire after Reed Richards and Johnny Storm helped him take off the black symbiote suit, with its abandonment being what caused the symbiote to hate Peter and eventually bond with Eddie Brock to become the Spider-Man nemesis Venom. While Peter has only briefly returned to the Bombastic Bag-Man persona on occasion in comics, it has become a favorite for fans who equipped it to the web head while playing games like Spider-Man: Shattered DimensionsSpider-Man: Edge of Time and most recently Marvel's Spider-Man.

Speaking of Venom, Peter appears to have a long way to go with training, being that Felicia compares him to the new King in Black in the preview by claiming his web swinging now lacks both "style" and "finesse." Felicia is helping Peter so that he can once again be Spider-Man and take the title back from Ben Reilly, something she promised Reilly she would see to in The Death of Doctor Strange: Spider-Man #1. Plus, Felicia has already shown she will do anything to help her loved ones, being that Giant-Size Black Cat: Infinity Score saw her trick three Infinity Stone bearers into curing her mom's cancer.

Though the Fantastic Four part is absent, it seems the Bombastic Bag-Man will be swinging around New York City until Peter scores Felicia and Cap's approval. Then, Peter and Ben's fight for the right to be Spider-Man comes in March, which will be the series' final issue until it relaunches the following month.
