Even with all the manga English publishers manage to pick up, there is still so much out there that can’t be read without knowing another language. Older and newer, from shoujo to seinen and all the genres in between, there are tons of titles that would be amazing for English publishers to pick up for more people to be able to read.

That would be a list that could go on for ages though. Narrowing it down just slightly, check out these 10 Shoujo Manga that aren’t yet licensed in English (but hopefully will be someday!)

10 10. Last Game

Naoto Yanagi has it all. His family is wealthy, he’s intelligent, good looking, and athletic. To everyone at his elementary school, Yanagi is perfect. That is, until Mikoto Kujou appears. Kujou is plain, socially inept, and poor, yet she manages to beat Yanagi in everything seemingly effortlessly.

Determined to reclaim his status as #1 at everything, Yanagi constantly challenges Kujou. Ten years later, they attend the same college, and Yanagi challenges Kujou to one Last Game, that he will make her fall in love with him. However, Kujou’s straightforward demeanor and lack of emotional understanding only make it harder for Yanagi to win her over as he finds himself to be the one falling in love with her.

Hiyori Nishiyama is 15 years old and extremely short. Following an accident that caused her to be hospitalized for a year, Hiyori is finally able to return to school as a freshman. She is incredibly shy, relying heavily on her best friend, Ritsuka, to help her function in social situations. Still, Hiyori is determined to make friends.

A popular and incredibly tall boy in her class, Yuushin Hirose, is exactly the kind of person to help her through her struggles with social skills. What starts off as admiration and friendship soon begins to blossom into another new experience for Hiyori: love.

8 8. Honey Come Honey

Mitsu Hanasaki is a high school student with a cute and fluffy exterior and a personality to match, usually. However, Hanasaki is far from the tiny weakling most people view her as with a fiery temper and unexpected fighting prowess.

One day on the train, she notices Kumagaya, a boy at her school known as “The Brutal Grizzly,” due to his large size and reputation. For some reason, Kumagaya won’t stop staring at her. Later at school, she accidentally runs into Kumagaya again and stumbles upon his secret, where she learns that just like her, there’s more to him than what people see on the outside.

7 7. Itou-kun wa Koi wo Shiranai (Itou-kun Doesn’t Know About Love)

Aika Yoshiuchi has had a terrible string of boyfriends. Cheated on, taken advantage of, and abused, Yoshiuchi begins to think this is all love will ever have to offer her. That is until she meets that strange, new transfer student, Itou Kazuki, whose face is wrapped in bandages.

It turns out, Itou is a Noppera-bō, a faceless ghost yokai, and he’s come to the human world to learn about, well, humans. Yoshiuchi becomes interested in Itou and decides to take it upon herself to teach him. With Yoshiuchi’s help, Itou will learn about all kinds of emotions, and together, they’ll learn about love.

6 6. Jishou Akuyaku Reijou Na Konyakusha No Kansatsu Kiroku (Fiancée’s Observation Log of the Self-proclaimed Villainess)

Crown Prince Cecil Glow Alfostar is a genius. He’s so brilliant in fact, that he finds everything in life to be too predictable and boring. This changes though on the day he meets his fiancée, Bertia Evil Nochesse, as she suddenly proclaims, “Prince Cecil, I am a villainess!” and proceeds to explain that this world is actually an otome game from her past life where her character is the villainess.

She plans to play her part well, but because she’s actually a good person, her “evil plans” typically work out comically, even helping people and earning her friends. More importantly though, the otherwise bored Prince Cecil now finds every day amusing as he watches over his fiancée.

5 5. Haru To Koi To Kimi No Koto (Spring, Love, and You)

Hiroka Mishima doesn’t understand romantic love. Due to a trauma that happened in her past, she has always avoided it, happy to just be friends with everyone. That’s why she chose her new boarding school where dating is forbidden; surely, here she wouldn’t have to worry about it. That’s what she thought until she met Airi Seta, an ikemen of the school.

While he puts on a flirtatious, playboy front, Airi is easily embarrassed when a girl touches him. He’s also a narcissist. Somehow a love begins to bloom between a boy who loves himself too much to fall in love, and a girl doesn’t have any interest in it.

Moriya Hanazono is 27 years old and works in his family’s flower shop. Despite his sweet nature, he always scares people away due to his angry, “oni” eyes. Hanazono loves working with flowers and is happy despite his social ostracism.

While getting ready to make a delivery to a local college’s beauty pageant, he stumbles upon Hiyori Suzuki hiding in his van. After helping her, she begins frequently visiting the flower shop with a different excuse every time, but it turns out she’s interested in Hanazono and wants to take him on a date. From there, a new relationship and new happiness wait for them both.

3 3. Nijiiro Days (Rainbow Days)

This is the story of the friendship and romantic relationships of four high school boys. Beginning with Natsuki Hashiba, the hopeless romantic who was dumped by his girlfriend on Christmas Eve only to meet a kind girl, Anna Kobayakawa, wearing a Santa costume. It turns out she goes to his school!

Natsuki juggles his meddling friends and their antics as he tries to get close to Anna. The colorful cast includes Tomoya Matsunaga, a playboy with multiple girlfriends, Keiichi Katakura, a sadist who always carries a whip but hides behind a sweet smile, and Tsuyoshi Naoe, a hardcore otaku with a cute cosplayer girlfriend.

2 2. Namaikizakari

Yuki Machida is the oldest child in a large family with busy parents. Since she was young, she has been responsible for the care of her siblings, always making sacrifices and suppressing her feelings. Still, Machida does one thing for herself and becomes the basketball club manager so she can be closer to her crush. The beginning of the new school year throws Machida a curveball when she meets her crush’s girlfriend.

Responsible as always, she continues her role as manager, which is how she meets a talented new team member, Shou Naruse, who immediately takes an interest in her. Despite her coldness and constant rejection, Shou continues to work hard on the court and at getting closer to Machida, determined to win her over

1 1. Hibi Chouchou (Daily Butterfly)

Due to her appearance, Suiren Shibazeki is known at her school as “takane no hana” (flower on a high peak), something she never wanted or asked for. All her life, whether in a co-ed school or all-girls, her classmates would surround her and vie for her attention.

As a result, Suiren keeps her face expressionless and rarely speaks to anyone other than her childhood friend, Aya Shimizu. However, after Kouha Kawasumi saves her without question nor even a second glance, she becomes interested in the boy who is just as quiet and shy as she is, the only boy who seems isn’t interested in her.
