The post-credits scene for 2008's Iron Man connected the film to a wider cinematic universe, with SHIELD director Nick Fury visiting Tony Stark to discuss the "Avenger Initiative" with him while also hinting at other superheroes. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has now shared an alternate version of that scene, which features references to Hulk, Spider-Man and mutants.
The scene, which will be included in the upcoming Infinity Saga box set, was revealed at the Saturn Awards. In the clip, Fury says, "As if gamma accidents, radioactive bug bites and assorted mutants weren't enough, I have to deal with a spoiled brat who doesn't play well with others and wants to keep all his toys to himself."

Why exactly the scene wasn't used isn't entirely clear, though it may have had to do with rights issues. Although Marvel Studios has typically been safe to use Bruce Banner/Hulk outside of solo films, Peter Parker/Spider-Man still, at the time of Iron Man, fell under the purview of Sony Pictures. Mutants, meanwhile, were squarely in Fox's camp, with no indication at the time they'd ever appear in the fledgeling Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Danai Gurira as Okoye and Bradley Cooper as Rocket, with Gwyneth Paltrow Pepper Potts, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Benedict Wong as Wong, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Josh Brolin as Thanos. The film is now available on Digital HD and arrives on Blu-ray and 4K UHD on Aug. 13.
