The Marvel Cinematic Universe may be headed to Canada in the future, as a new rumor claims that the Canadian superhero team Alpha Flight may be joining the franchise's ranks in the future. In a tweet from Knight Edge Media's Caleb Williams, he stated, "Small Tidbit: Coming soon to the MCU..." above an image of Alpha Flight members Guardian, Vindicator, Shaman, Marrina, Sasquatch and Snowbird, ending the tweet an Alpha Flight hashtag.RELATED: Alpha Flight: True North #1 Is a Warm Homecoming

X-Men film producer Simon Kinberg previously suggested that the team could have been spun off into its own movie back in 2017 when Fox still had the film rights to the X-Men franchise.

Created by artist-writer John Byrne, Alpha Flight made their first appearance in a cameo in 1979's The Uncanny X-Men #120. Originally acting in a more antagonistic role towards the Children of the Atom due to being on a mission to capture Wolverine for the Canadian government, the group would eventually receive a spinoff series that ran from 1983 to 1994 and has been followed up by more short-lived ongoing titles. The original roster of Alpha Flight consisted of the power suit-clad Guardian, First Nations mystic Shaman, the Hulk-like Sasquatch, twin mutant speedsters Northstar and Aurora, aquatic alien Marrina, shapeshifting Inuit demigoddess Snowbird and diminutive acrobat Puck.
