The following contains spoilers for Halloween Ends, currently in theaters and available to stream on Peacock.

Since Halloween Ends premiered, Michael Myer's fans have been polarized over how the iconic killer and Laurie Strode's finale plays out. Many wanted them to go head-to-head for an entire movie in another cat-and-mouse game, but the flick shifts to Michael infecting Corey Cunningham to become Haddonfield's new resident slasher.

Some complained that it took away from the iconic rivalry, with Corey being shunted in at the last moment to hog the glory. That said, Laurie and her granddaughter, Allyson Nelson, do get the last word, with both Corey and Michael being killed to end the series. However, one theory is floating about on various online platforms, indicating Allyson may actually pave the way for the story to continue.

Halloween Ends Could Have Impregnated Allyson With Evil

Before Corey turns evil, Laurie wanted him and Allyson to get together. They eventually do, but while Laurie grows wary about his dark side, Allyson, due to her grief and trauma, goes all in. She embarks on a full-blooded romance with Corey, with the movie showing them going up to her room and sleeping together -- something Laurie sees and grows incensed over.

Now, while both villains were killed, conspiracy theorists think Corey could have passed his seed onto Allyson. Seeing as he was the new Shape of Evil at the time, the infection could grow in this newborn, with a time-jump turning Corey's spawn into the next Michael. Admittedly, it'd continue the supernatural aspect of Michael's contagiousness. This new person could then return to Haddonfield to kill Laurie, steal Michael's mask and cause havoc against a town that bullied Corey, placing Allyson as a nemesis with a personal connection -- remixing the old Halloween timeline where Laurie and Michael were siblings.

Halloween Shouldn't Destroy Allyson Any Further

Given the reception, Halloween Ends has to be the last time the iconic franchise shifts away from Michael. He's the heart and soul of the series, so to hand the mantle off wouldn't feel right. It's why Leatherface, Freddy Krueger and Jason Vorhees, even in rebooted stories, remain themselves. More so, the optics of this just feels perverted and invasive. Impregnating Allyson -- whose grandmother fought to save the town and who lost her parents to Michael's madness -- would be cruel.

Simply put, while horror movies do have a misogynistic, merciless air, having the Shape of Evil form in her womb would be tasteless. It didn't resonate well when Laurie's daughter in the old franchise, Jamie, became possessed by Michael and Jamie's son also became a conduit for evil. Thus, the idea of progenies becoming monsters, for this particular series, has failed. Even when The Omen tried it with Delia, it bombed because Damien was the dark heart of that property. Admittedly, based on how Halloween Ends concludes, if the franchise is to go on, the best bet would be to have strangers steal the mask and become infected. That's because the Strodes have been through hell and, honestly, deserve a rest, especially after doing Allyson so dirty with a false glimmer of hope and happiness.

Halloween Ends is currently in theaters and available to stream on premium tiers of Peacock.
