Alligator Loki, the breakout character from the first season of Marvel's Loki, is getting his own comic run.

Marvel announced that Alligator Loki will receive his own 12-issue comic series in the Infinity Comics format on Marvel Unlimited. The first issue, Alligator Loki #1, is already available to read now. Subsequent issues will be released every other Friday. The plot description reads, "For his entire life, Thor has only known one brother, Loki. Known to all as conniving, sneaky, and cunning! But a new Loki is ready to take his place. He may be smaller, he may be cuter, and... an alligator?! But don't be deceived, Alligator Loki has all the same attributes as his human counterpart and is ready to get into some trouble!"

Alligator Loki #1, titled "Family Bonding," opens with Thor and Loki fighting one another on the Bifrost. Loki opens a portal and enters it, causing Thor to try and reach in and grab him before it's too late. Instead of grabbing his brother, Alligator Loki comes jumping out. Becoming fast friends, the two head to an Asgardian amusement park and spend the remainder of the day together riding attractions, walking through gift shops, etc. Given that Alligator Loki can't actually speak, the first issue is an entirely silent comic.

Alligator Loki, oftentimes named Croki, made its debut in the first season of Loki last year -- first in a quick, cameo-like appearance in episode four, and then for nearly the entirety of episode five. Quickly winning over the fans, Croki merchandise started showing up right around the time that the Loki season finale aired. While not an official Marvel release, one Loki fan created a Croki comic showing the character talking to Odin and coming to the realization that he was adopted.

The first six-episode season of Loki expanded the Marvel Cinematic Universe by opening up the multiverse when the God of Mischief (played by Tom Hiddleston) encounters a number of his own variants. Marvel has confirmed that a second season of Loki is currently in the works, but a release date has not yet been set. Moon Knight directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead were recently tapped to direct the new season for Disney+. Showrunner Michael Waldron and writer Eric Martin are also returning.

Alligator Loki's creative team includes writer Alyssa Wong, artist Robert Quinn, colorist Pete Pantazis and editor Katelyn Gregorowicz. Alligator Loki #1 is available to read now on Marvel Unlimited.
