An alleged photo of Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther costume, snapped during "Captain America: Civil War" filming in Berlin, has surfaced online thanks to German photographer Andreas Meyer's Instagram account.
The photo captures Black Panther and Bucky Barnes/the Winter Soldier during a rooftop scene, with wiring and cameras set up to capture the stunt. The costume, depicted here, reflects concept art shown last year. CBR has reached out for confirmation of the costume's authenticity.
Even if the costume is authentic, it's likely that Chadwick Boseman -- who will star in "Civil War" as well as his very own "Black Panther" film -- isn't the one wearing it in this photo and that a stunt double is filming the scene. Furthermore, this probably won't be the finalized version, with flourishes added in post-production.
Check out a side-by-side comparison of the photo and the original concept art below.
In an earlier interview, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige explained that Black Panther would be an important part of the "Civil War" storyline, saying, "The reason we introduced him in 'Civil War' is because we needed a third party... We needed fresh eyes who wasn't embedded with the Avengers and who has a very different point of view than either Tony or Steve. We said, 'We need somebody like Black Panther... why don't we just use Black Panther?' That's how it went in the development process."
