Fans have continued their pleas for a sequel to 2019's cyberpunk film Alita: Battle Angel.

As #AlitaSequel trends on Twitter in full force, a multitude of images and clips from Alita: Battle Angel are being shared, along with fans begging for a sequel. It's worth noting Alita: Battle Angel recently arrived on HBO, which likely helped prompt these calls for another film.

Based on the manga series Gunnm, Alita: Battle Angel stars Rosa Salazar as the cyborg Alita. The film was lauded for its stylized filming techniques, which mixed CGI animation with live-action filming.

While the film didn't turn as much of a profit as the 20th Century Fox (now 20th Century Studios) hoped, it has gained a cult following that has continued to support it. Fans even created a petition for Alita: Battle Angel Part 2, which currently sits at nearly 140,000 signatures.

There is no official word on a sequel going into production, though producer James Cameron and director Robert Rodriguez reportedly have plans for one. Another one of the film's producers, Jon Landau, has said fans will dictate whether Alita: Battle Angel ultimately gets a followup.
