A new poster for Fox's Alita: Battle Angel, the live-action adaptation of Yukito Kishiro’s popular cyberpunk manga, shows the titular character readying herself for war.
Alita: Battle Angel was initially slated to arrive in theaters on July 20. However, Fox pushed the film back to December 21st before again pushing it back to early 2019. The poster itself doesn't make any mention of a release date, opting instead to say the movie is "coming soon." The poster itself shows Alita smudging what appears to be blood underneath her eye.
Set in a futuristic world in which robotics have significantly advanced, the story centers around an android named Alita. She’s found in a dump with her memory gone, and repaired by the kindly Dr. Dyson Ido (Christoph Waltz). After raising her as his own daughter, they discover she’s actually one of the last robots to contain specific programming and skills that make her a target. Soon, she’s on the run and being hunted while she looks to uncover her past. Cue a whole bunch of robot fights and chase sequences.
Alita: Battle Angel will arrive in theaters on February 14, 2019. The film stars Rosa Salazar, Christoph Waltz, Jennifer Connelly, Mahershala Ali, Ed Skrein, Jackie Earle Haley, Keean Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Lana Condor, and Eiza González.
