Nearly a month into its wide release and Alita: Battle Angel has crossed another major box office milestone overseas this past weekend.

As Captain Marvel opened in theaters everywhere worldwide taking the top spot, Alita still managed to earn $11.6 million from foreign markets bringing its international box office total over $300 million. This puts the manga adaptation's combined worldwide box office total to $382.6 million, with the film expected to cross the $400 million mark, potentially as early as the conclusion of this coming weekend.

Domestically, the Robert Rodriguez film has had more trouble connecting with audiences, earning $3.2 million with a domestic box office total just over $78 million.

Alita's box office in East Asia has begun to slow down, dropping out of the top ten at the Japanese box office this past weekend after opening in the country on February 21. With a reported production budget of $170 million, industry analysts estimate the film will have to earn anywhere from $400-500 million to break even after factoring in marketing and distribution costs.
