As reportedby TV Line, the "Community" and "Mad Men" alum will play the lead character Ruth, a struggling actress whose last attempt at an acting career finds her starring in a weekly wrestling show.

"G.L.O.W.," a fictionalized account of the real women's pro-wrestling league that rose in popularit in the '80s, comes from creator Jenji Kohan ("Orange is the New Black"). The new series was co-created Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch.

The series was first announced back in May when Netflix ordered a 10-episode season of the series. The original syndicated series ran for four seasons from 1986-1990, lasting a total of 104 episodes. Unlike other professional wrestling programs, like the WWF (now known as the WWE), the syndicated "G.L.O.W." series ran for 26-episode seasons that were reran, similar to traditional scripted shows.
