Move over David, there is a new model of synthetic in town for "Alien: Covenant," and his name is Walter.

The latest addition to the Weyland-Yutani line of consumer and business products was unveiled in a new promo for director Ridley Scott's film. The short details the creation and "birth" of what is described as "the new Walter," and is also accompanied by a poster.

Of course, as previously reported, both models are played by the same actor, Michael Fassbender. Telling them apart could be a problem, although when we last saw David in "Prometheus" he was in a sad state of disrepair after his encounter with an Engineer.

All of this raises some interesting questions about the relationship between Walter and David. If the new Walter looks like Fassbender, what did the old Walter look like? What prompted Weyland-Yutani to rebrand their product with a new name? And to what extent are the two synthetics different "under the hood?"

Opening May 19, “Alien: Covenant” stars Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England and Benjamin Rigby.
