Ridley Scott’s “Alien: Covenant” is just about a month away, and the viral marketing is as strong as ever. With plenty of “Alien: Covenant” trailers already released and Alien Day approaching fast, the Alien series keeps generating new content to whet the appetites of fans.

One of the most successful marketing strategies has revolved not around the trailers themselves, but viral clips, similar to the ‘Meet Walter” video, that introduced the audience to the film’s android. Now, two more viral videos have been released, this time in the form of transmissions sent to earth.

With a creepy found-footage vibe, the first video features Daniels, played by Katherine Waterson, sending a message to her dad. Sprinkled with a glimmer of hope, there is an air of foreboding, especially when the video message is intercut with frightening bits and pieces of Daniels', and the rest of her crew’s, future. The video also does a good job in showing what an Alien-centric found-footage movie would look like.

The second video, is not of the found-footage variety, but rather showcases Oran, played by Billy Crudup, reading a speech about the majesty of creation, as he calls it. Like the first video, there are bits of horror interlaced within.
