Actor/musician Alicia Witt has joined the cast of "The Walking Dead" in an as-yet unidentified role. Witt made the announcement herself today, via Twitter, saying she's "proud & overjoyed to get to announce to you today: I'm joining one of the greatest shows ever made. #TheWalkingDead!"

It is not clear whether Witt will appear in the back-half of the current season, or if her character will debut in Season 7. CBR News has reached out to AMC for further details.

In addition to being a classically trained pianist and experience singer/songwriter, Witt also has a long acting history, debuting in 1984 in David Lynch's "Dune." Since then, she's appeared on numerous stelevision series and films, including extended runs on "Justified" opposite Timothy Olyphant, and "Friday Night Lights."

"The Walking Dead" returns with the second half of Season 6 on Sunday, February 14 at 9 pm EST on AMC.
