Alicia Vikander is Lara Croft in Tomb Raider Reboot's First Poster

Images from MGM's rebooted Tomb Raider movie franchise have slowly been making their way to the public over the last few months. Now, the first poster has been revealed via the movie's Twitter account, showing star Alicia Vikander standing tall as Lara Croft and sporting her handy climbing axe, which will no doubt come in handy during her adventure alongside her bow and arrow.

Much like the way the previous Tomb Raider films were based on the early games starring the iconic adventurer, this new film is based on the franchise-rebooting game from 2013. In the movie, Lara will lead a search for her father -- also an adventurer -- that starts at his last known location: a tomb on an island off the coast of Japan. Unfortunately, the journey a perilous one, since the island is home to a group of cannibalistic cultists. The film will serve as an origin story for everyone's favorite adventurer in her quest for survival and answers.
