Alice in Wonderland Sequel Sizes Up Muppets Director

Three years after Alice in Wonderland earned $1 billion worldwide, Disney is finally making moves on the long-awaited sequel.

Variety has news that James Bobin is in early talks to direct the second trip to Wonderland. He's a familiar name for Disney, as he directed The Muppets and is at work on the sequel The Muppets … Again!. Linda Woolverton is working on the Wonderland sequel's script, and the project is moving forward under the working title Into the Looking Glass.

Stoker actress Mia Wasikowska and Pirates of the Caribbean super-star Johnny Depp were the leads of the first Alice in Wonderland, playing Alice and the Mad Hatter. One imagines they'll head Into the Looking Glass for the sequel as well.
