Actor Ryan Reynolds appeared on Jeopardy to promote the film Free Guy during one of Alex Trebek's final episodes.During Monday's episode of Jeopardy, Reynolds delivered a clue under the game's "The Movies" category. "In my 2020 movie 'Free Guy', I play a bank teller who comes to realize that he’s really an NPC, short for this kind of character in an open-world video game?" Reynolds asked the three contestants. The episode was recorded shortly before Trebek's passing. Trebek hosted Jeopardy for over 30 years and passed away on Nov. 8, 2020, after a battle with pancreatic cancer. His final Jeopardy episodes will air through Jan. 8, 2021.

"It's an honor (and a little heartbreaking) to be with Alex Trebek one last time on Jeopardy," Reynolds tweeted in response along with a Canadian flag emoji for his fellow Canadian.

To honor the Jeopardy host, the latest Free Guy trailer even included a special Trebek cameo. About midway through the trailer, someone asks who Free Guy is and fans can hear Trebek's iconic voice saying, "This character in the video game 'Free City' has been turning heads by being the good guy." The voice is then followed by a clip of Trebek on the Jeopardy stage as a contestant answers the question with "Who is blue shirt guy?"

Directed by Shawn Levy and written by Matt Lieberman and Zak Penn, Free Guy stars Ryan Reynolds, Jodie Comer, Joe Keery, Lil Rel Howery, Utkarsh Ambudkar and Taika Waititi. The film arrives in theaters on May 21, 2021.
