Alex Ross' Detective Comics #1000 Variant Reimagines Batman's Debut

Detective Comics 27 First Batman

Artist Alex Ross has debuted his variant cover for the upcoming milestone issue Detective Comics #1000. Ross is joined by an all-star line up of writers and artists who contributed to the issue, which celebrates Batman's 80th anniversary.

Posted on his Twitter, Ross' cover recreates the original Detective Comics #27 cover. He includes the classic red and yellow background, with the title displayed in bold, white letters. However, his figure work reimagines the Dark Knight in his unique style, as seen in Marvels, Kingdom Come, Justice and Astro City. The exclusive cover will be available for purchase from Ross' website starting February 26th.
