Comics writer Ales Kot has written a pilot based on Zero, his twisty spy series from Image Comics, and its been named one of the six best unproduced pilots of 2014 by The Blood List. Organized by "genre guru" Kailey Marsh, the annual Blood List began in 2009 and shines a light on 13 of the "most-liked, unproduced dark genre scripts every Halloween," and was voted on by 73 Hollywood execs this year.

Zero placed second in the best unproduced pilot category. The pilot's logline will be familiar to fans of the psychological espionage series that switches artists each month: "Edward Zero was the best spy the Agency had—and then he realized he was working for the wrong side."

It's not the only writing outside of comics that Kot has been working on, noting recently on Twitter that he's finishing a horror spec script, as well.
