The next installment of the Mission: Impossible franchise is gearing up for action, and it already has its eye on a major star.

Deadline reports Alec Baldwin is in talks to star in the currently untitled Mission: Impossible 5, once again starring Tom Cruise, and directed by Cruise's Jack Reacher collaborator Christopher McQuarrie.

Baldwin would play "the head of the CIA." Regardless of if he's an on-the-level agent or an against-the-agency mole, Baldwin's character is sure to butt heads with Ethan Hunt at some point in the film.

Beyond Baldwin, another actor is in the mix for a Mission: Impossible role. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Swedish actress Rebecca Ferguson will play the female lead opposite Cruise. Little is known about the role.

Ferguson is best known for her turn in The White Queen, the BBC series that earned her a Golden Globe nomination. She next appears in Hercules, starring Dwayne Johnson.

Mission: Impossible 5 is scheduled for release on Dec. 25, 2015.
