Official Press Release

The Albany Comic Con will host an auction of comic related artwork and merchandise to help support ongoing relief efforts to local communities that suffered significant losses during the recent hurricanes and flooding. Working with St. Ambrose church in Latham, N.Y., the convention's promoter, artists and vendors will contribute goods and original comic artwork that will be sold in a silent auction all day at the convention on Sunday, October 30th, 2011.

Artwork available will include an original Dick Tracy colored sketch by the strip's artist, Joe Staton. Other artwork includes a Doctor Who piece by local favorite Matthew Dow Smith, a Batman drawing by John Hebert, Superman by Paul Abrams, and a Universal Monsters sketch by Fred Hembeck, as well as others.
