Alan Tudyk will star in the pilot for the potential upcoming Syfy series Resident Alien.

Based on the Dark Horse comic, Resident Alien centers on an alien that crashes in a small Colorado town and is forced to take a human identity as a reclusive retired doctor to avoid detection, all in the hopes that he can stay hidden long enough for his people to come and rescue him. But when the only other doctor in town is murdered, he’s forced to try and solve the mystery while remaining hidden from the townsfolks and, more importantly, the government.

This is just the latest comic adaptation that Tudyk has become attached to in recent months. He has also been cast in DC Universe’s new series Doom Patrol as the villain Mister Nobody.

Tudyk will join the rest of the main cast, who have also been recently announced. Sara Tomko (400 Days) will play Asta Twelvetrees, a kind nurse who works for him. Corey Reynolds (The Closer) will take on the role of Sheriff Mike Thompson, who runs the town and doesn’t have any problems breaking the rules. Alice Wetterlund (People of Earth) has been cast as D'arcy, a former Olympic skier and current ski patrol officer in the area. Finally, Levi Fiehler (ETXR) will play Ben Hawthorne, the young and inexperienced mayor of the little town.
