Disenchanted, the upcoming sequel to 2007's Enchanted, will feature Alan Tudyk as the voice of a scroll.

As an affectionate parody of Disney classics, the first movie contained hundreds of nods to Disney history, including featuring past princess voice actors Judy Kuhn (Pocahontas), Jodi Benson (Ariel) and Paige O'Hara (Belle) in minor roles. The second movie will reportedly be paying homage to the decade and a half of Disney since the original was released, including casting Alan Tudyk in a minor voice role. Tudyk's magical talking scroll made a brief appearance in the trailer, warning Giselle about her deadline -- midnight, of course -- to undo the spell.

Tudyk Has Extensive Voice Acting Experience

Tudyk's first Disney movie role was as the villainous King Candy in Wreck-It Ralph (2012), which he quickly followed up with the supporting roles of the Duke of Weselton in Frozen (2013) and Alistair Krei in Big Hero 6 (2014). He then parodied his Frozen role in Zootopia (2016), as a weasel named Duke Weaselton, before voicing his first bird character, Heihei the chicken, in Moana (2016).

Over the years since, Tudyk has voiced characters (and more birds) in Ralph Breaks the Internet, Frozen II, Disney's live-action Aladdin, Raya and the Last Dragon and Encanto. He will also be appearing in Disney's upcoming live-action Peter Pan remake, Peter Pan and Wendy, as Mr Darling. The actor has poked fun at his minor Disney roles before, including in a behind-the-scenes viral clip from Moana of Tudyk clucking like a chicken before saying, "I went to Julliard."

Disenchanted is directed by Adam Shankman and has a script by Bill Kelly, who also penned the first movie. Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz wrote all-new music for the film. Both have a long list of Disney credits, including Enchanted, for which three of their songs received nominated for Best Original Song at the Academy Awards. The main stars, Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden and Idina Menzel, are all returning and are joined by Maya Rudolph, Yvette Nicole Brown and Jayma Mays. Gabriella Baldacchino replaces Rachel Covey as Giselle's stepdaughter, while Griffin Newman replaces Jeff Bennett and Kevin Lima as the voice of Pip the chipmunk.

Disenchanted will be released straight to Disney+ Nov. 18.
