AiT/Planet Lar Adds Creative Executive

Official Press Release

Publisher Larry Young announced today that his publishing house has added
graphic artist/raconteur Josh Richardson as Creative Executive to the
AiT/Planet Lar team.

“For the past six years, AiT/Planet Lar has been perceived to be, in the
eyes of the uninitiated, some sort of autocratic concern under my sole
unblinking eye,” said Young. “Nothing could be further from the truth. Not
only has publisher Mimi Rosenheim steered us on a steady course, but
before Ryan Yount moved on to UbiSoft, he spent a couple years
coordinating production for us, and designers Rob Blatherwick, David
Lessard, and Royce Leonard have pitched in to lend a hand in true
Mission: Impossible style. It’s my pleasure now to welcome Josh
Richardson into our family of those who are Making Comics Better.”

While presently studying film and screenwriting at San Francisco State,
most recently Josh has become well-known in the comics industry as the
Jimi Hendrix of color flatters. “It sure has been fun to bring the
once-obscure art of the color assist to the forefront of people’s minds
with my work. I gotta say, it’s flattering to be known as the Jimi Hendrix
of your field,” said Richardson.

Josh’s talents in Information Technology, expertise in video games and
software, and his years serving pop culture clients make him uniquely
suited for the Creative Executive post. “Josh’s mandate is to basically be
the middle of the Bell Curve,” said Mimi Rosenheim. “While Larry and I
both work together to determine the business strategy, Larry also does his
own fiction writing and develops new talent, while I’m responsible for the
business and operations infrastructure. Josh will cover the middle,
working production and print management, some operations and distribution
paperwork, and what we laughingly call ‘creator triage.’ With the
ascendancy and immediacy of online communication, it’s become commonplace
to assume instant response times to questions and needs, and Josh will be
dedicated manpower to addressing the needs of the creators we work with.”

“I’m just working on becoming the Swiss Army Knife of the comics
industry,” said Richardson. “I want to do it all from beginning to end. At
the end of the day, I want to go home happy after entertaining the
audience. I want to give to comics back all the fun comics have given me.
And AiT is the place to do it.”
