AiT/Planet Lar Adds Creative Executive

width="117" height="190" alt="" border="0" align="right">Publisher Larry Young announced today that his publishing house has addedgraphic artist/raconteur Josh Richardson as Creative Executive to theAiT/Planet Lar team.

"For the past six years, AiT/Planet Lar has been perceived to be, in theeyes of the uninitiated, some sort of autocratic concern under my soleunblinking eye," said Young. "Nothing could be further from the truth. Notonly has publisher Mimi Rosenheim steered us on a steady course, butbefore Ryan Yount moved on to UbiSoft, he spent a couple yearscoordinating production for us, and designers Rob Blatherwick, DavidLessard, and Royce Leonard have pitched in to lend a hand in trueMission: Impossible style. It's my pleasure now to welcome JoshRichardson into our family of those who are Making Comics Better."

While presently studying film and screenwriting at San Francisco State,most recently Josh has become well-known in the comics industry as theJimi Hendrix of color flatters. "It sure has been fun to bring theonce-obscure art of the color assist to the forefront of people's mindswith my work. I gotta say, it's flattering to be known as the Jimi Hendrixof your field," said Richardson.

Josh's talents in Information Technology, expertise in video games andsoftware, and his years serving pop culture clients make him uniquelysuited for the Creative Executive post. "Josh's mandate is to basically bethe middle of the Bell Curve," said Mimi Rosenheim. "While Larry and Iboth work together to determine the business strategy, Larry also does hisown fiction writing and develops new talent, while I'm responsible for thebusiness and operations infrastructure. Josh will cover the middle,working production and print management, some operations and distributionpaperwork, and what we laughingly call 'creator triage.' With theascendancy and immediacy of online communication, it's become commonplaceto assume instant response times to questions and needs, and Josh will bededicated manpower to addressing the needs of the creators we work with."

"I'm just working on becoming the Swiss Army Knife of the comicsindustry," said Richardson. "I want to do it all from beginning to end. Atthe end of the day, I want to go home happy after entertaining theaudience. I want to give to comics back all the fun comics have given me.And AiT is the place to do it."
