Jan-Michael Vincent passed away following complications from cardiac arrest in February.

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Vincent passed away last month, but the news was kept under wraps. Vincent was a rising star in the 1970s and 1980s, appearing in films such as The World’s Greatest Athlete and Bite the Bullet before taking on the lead role in the television show Airwolf.

The series, which also featured Ernest Borgnine in a major role, aired for three years. The show centered around the crew of a high-tech military helicopter who went on various missions around the world against the backdrop of the Cold War. While starring in the show, Vincent was among the highest-paid actors working in television.

However, his career stagnated as personal issues hounded the actor off the screen. He was involved in three separate car accidents, which ultimately left him with permanent injury to his vocal cords and broke three vertebrae in his neck. He also was arrested for alcohol-related crimes. The actor was living in South Carolina and was reportedly facing financial problems when he suffered the cardiac arrest. He was 73 at the time of his death.
