Star Wars prequel trilogy alum and Obi-Wan Kenobi star Ewan McGregor has confirmed Mary Elizabeth Winstead's involvement in Disney+'s upcoming Ahsoka series.

While discussing his place in the Star Wars universe with Vanity Fair, McGregor remarked on how ingrained the franchise has become in his personal life. "My partner, Mary, is doing that Star Wars series with Rosario and she's about to start," he said. "Our little boy has been born into this massive Star Wars family. He will either embrace it or really go the other way. I don't know. Maybe he'll be a Trekkie!"

This confirms a previous report that Winstead had joined the cast of Ahsoka in an undisclosed role. Winstead will appear in the series alongside Rosario Dawson, who reprises her role as the live-action version of Ahsoka Tano from The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. Winstead previously starred as Ramona Flowers in 2010's Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and as Huntress the 2020 DC Extended Universe film Birds of Prey. She and McGregor met on the set of Fargo in 2016 and married in 2022. While McGregor has been part of the Star Wars franchise since 1999, Ahsoka will mark Winstead's first journey to the galaxy far, far away.

First appearing in 2008's Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated film, Ahsoka Tano was introduced as the Jedi Padawan of Anakin Skywalker. The character has since made numerous additional appearances throughout the franchise, including the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. The character was originally voiced by Ashley Eckstein.

McGregor's upcoming series, Obi-Wan Kenobi, is set to follow the former Jedi Master during his life in exile following the Galactic Empire's rise to power. Alongside McGregor, fellow Star Wars veteran Hayden Christensen is slated to reprise his role as Darth Vader for the first time since 2005's Star Wars - Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. The series also marks the live action debut of the Grand Inquisitor, with Rupert Friend stepping into the role, as well as the first appearance of Moses Ingram's Inquisitor Reva, aka Third Sister. The two Force sensitive assassins will presumably be joining Christensen's Darth Vader on his hunt across the galaxy for the titular Jedi.

Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres on Disney+ on May 27.
