WARNING: The following contains spoilers for The Mandalorian, "Chapter 16: The Rescue," streaming now on Disney+.

Throughout her appearances on Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, Ahsoka Tano became one of the biggest and most popular characters in the galaxy far, far away. In fact, she's been such a massive fan-favorite character that, in the second season of Star Wars: The Mandalorian, the character made her live-action debut, played by actor Rosario Dawson.

Her debut episode was a huge deal -- and the Ahsoka news wouldn't stop there. At last week's Disney Investor Day, it was confirmed that Dawson would return to star in her own spin-off solo, Star Wars: Ahsoka. Now, details about the series are being kept under wraps, but it's clear one character absolutely needs to make an appearance on Ahsoka: Luke Skywalker.

In The Clone Wars, Ahsoka Tano was introduced as Anakin Skywalker's Padawan. The two had a fun brother/sister dynamic that helped both characters grow, and this contributed to making Ahsoka an important part of the Star Wars mythos. Their relationship would continue to evolve in Star Wars Rebels, when Ahsoka would finally face her former master, now Darth Vader, in battle. The bond between the two transcended the fight, and it once again showed how important Ahsoka was to Anakin.

Ever since fans learned that Ahsoka had survived the Jedi purge -- something that meant she was actually alive during the Original Trilogy era -- they have been waiting and hoping for her to meet Anakin's son. Well, now that Ahsoka is getting her own live-action series and Luke has been brought into the world of The Mandalorian, it's is the perfect time to have these two fan-favorite characters finally meet.

When Ahsoka was announced, it was confirmed that the series will take place in the same era as The Mandalorian, which is itself set several years after the events of Return of the Jedi. This means that Ahsoka's solo adventure will unfold around the same time that Luke's most recent appearance in The Mandalorian.

Since Ahsoka is also fighting to protect the galaxy, she is bound to come across Luke, who famously ended the tyranny of the Empire. Whether she seeks him out or whether he is the one that finds her, the two Force users meeting is too good of an opportunity to pass up. In addition, while having Luke and Ahsoka interact would be a great treat for fans, aside from the fanfare, it would also be an important meeting for both characters.

After all, given the tight bond Ahsoka had with Anakin, it would be an extremely emotional moment for her to meet his son, the man who was able to defeat Vader and bring his father back from the Dark Side. As for Luke, meeting Ahsoka would be akin to meeting another member of his family. She knew his father extremely well before his fall, which means she would have countless stories to tell him -- and even wisdom to pass on.

Ahsoka does not yet have a release date. Created by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, with guest stars Gina Carano, Carl Weathers and Giancarlo Esposito. Directors for the new season include Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa, Carl Weathers, Peyton Reed and Robert Rodriguez. New episodes arrive every Friday on Disney+.
