Mary Elizabeth Winstead's role in Ahsoka has seemingly been revealed.

According to The Bespin Bulletin, Winstead will be bringing fan-favorite Star Wars Rebels character Hera Syndulla to live-action in the upcoming Disney+ series, Ahsoka. The Star Wars character -- a Twi’lek pilot turned rebel -- was previously voiced by Vanessa Marshall in Rebels as well as Forces of Destiny and The Bad Batch. Lucasfilm had previously teased that Hera would appear in Ahsoka during its 2022 Star Wars Celebration event, but it was unknown at the time who would play her.

Hera Syndulla is now the third Rebels character confirmed to appear in Ahsoka after Ezra Bridger and Sabine Wren, who will be portrayed in live-action by Eman Esfandi and Natasha Liu Bordizzo, respectively. Although the cast and crew behind Ahsoka have claimed that the Disney+ series will not be a direct continuation of Star Wars Rebels, Ahsoka is still set to have ties to the animated series. In addition to featuring main characters from Rebels, Ahsoka will also pick up narrative threads left dangling from the animated series like the whereabouts of Thrawn and Ezra.

Disney+ Debuts First Look at Ahsoka

Disney+ recently released a video teasing its upcoming 2023 slate, which includes highly-anticipated Star Wars series like The Mandalorian Season 3, The Bad Batch Season 2, Skeleton Crew and Ahsoka. Although brief, fans were able to see the first look of Rosario Dawson returning as the former Jedi padawan in the upcoming series. Dawson previously played the live-action version of Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, with Ashley Eckstein continuing to voice the character in her animated appearances.

Joining Dawson, Winstead, Esfandi and Bordizzo in Ahsoka will be Hayden Christensen, who is set to reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader from the Star Wars prequels and Obi-Wan Kenobi for an undisclosed number of episodes. Ahsoka will mark the first time fans get to see the relationship between Anakin Skywalker and his padawan Ahsoka Tano portrayed in live-action, with Christensen and Dawson in the roles. The characters had previously only ever been seen together in animated properties like The Clone Wars and Rebels where they were voiced by Matt Lanter and Eckstein.

Ivanna Sakhno and Ray Stevenson have also been cast in Ahsoka in undisclosed roles, with the Rebels droid Chopper also set to appear in the series. Ahsoka is expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2023 after The Mandalorian Season 3.
