New Ahsoka set photos show what appears to be the ruins of an ancient Jedi temple.

The unofficial behind-the-scenes images from the upcoming Disney+ Star Wars series first appeared on Bespin Bulletin. They offer a clear view of the set's heavily weathered, crumbling walls which are partly enclosed by a blue screen. The snaps also include close-ups of an impressive staircase, as well as what might be the legs of a gigantic statue. Neither Disney+ nor Lucasfilm has officially confirmed that an ancient Jedi temple will feature in Ahsoka, however.

Ahsoka reportedly started filming in April 2022, under the working title "Stormcrow." While an exact wrap date hasn't been confirmed, inside sources previously suggested that the shoot could last "until quite late in the year." Filming was originally set for January 2022. However, Ahsoka was forced to reschedule after principal photography on The Mandalorian Season 3 was extended by several weeks.

With cameras finally rolling on the Disney+ series, set photos like those of the alleged Jedi temple are slowly starting to trickle in. Of these, the most striking was an image that purported to reveal an encounter between Rosario Dawson's Ahsoka and Ray Park's Maul. The authenticity of this snap has since been called into question, however, after sources close to Ahsoka pointed out that the cameras pictured filming the scene don't seem to be the same as those used on the rest of the production.

Although the Ahsoka/Maul reunion has seemingly been debunked, the one-time Padawan will apparently be reunited with her former master in the Disney+ series. Hayden Christensen signed on to play Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in Ahsoka in October 2021, reprising the role he last played in 2005's Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. Animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars previously established that Ahsoka trained under Anakin prior to leaving the Jedi Order, while Star Wars Rebels depicted an epic showdown between the former friends years later. Ahsoka will mark the first time the two characters have interacted in live-action.

Little is known about how Anakin and his villainous alter-ego will factor into Ahsoka's plot, as details regarding the show remain scarce. That said, The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett director Bryce Dallas Howard recently promised that Clone Wars fans will appreciate Ahsoka. "Without giving anything away, you are going to love the Ahsoka show that's coming up. I cannot tell you anything, but what I can say is that you being a fan of the Clone Wars will be greatly rewarded," she said.
