Ahsoka Tano has had an incredible journey in Star Wars canon. Growing from a wide-eyed padawan to the experienced Jedi outcast, Ahsoka is one of the best characters to be introduced tino the universe. Her story is near perfect, but it lacks one major component: an ending. A proper death for the character in her upcoming Disney+ series Ahsoka can help cement her legacy among Star Wars heroes.

From Star Wars: The Clone Wars to The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka has been involved with almost every major event in the galaxy from the prequel era to the time of the New Republic. Her legacy in Star Wars is almost as great as Darth Vader, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker. Yet all those iconic characters had memorable deaths. Vader died saving his son, Obi-Wan died protecting the future of the Jedi and Luke died redeeming himself. Ahsoka needs her own great death.

A Good Death for Ahsoka Tano Can Be Its Own Reward

Ahsoka's Disney+ Series Features Multiple Versions of the Fan-Favorite Jedi

A well-written death for a character can be satisfying. People want to see how a story ends or know their hero finally finds peace. While it's unclear if Ahsoka will be a limited series or have multiple seasons, it should complete her story. Ahsoka is a character who endures through even the hardest conditions -- but if she always succeeds, then it becomes hard to believe in her struggle. Even Luke Skywalker lost on occasion. While Ahsoka has experienced loss in her life, she has always overcome adversity.

If Ahsoka is hunting Thrawn, then she may be hunting the entire might of the Chiss or even the original formation of the First Order. These are overwhelming odds for a lone Jedi and her few friends, such as Sabine Wren and Hera. Seeing Ahsoka face devastating odds and having to choose between saving her friends and saving herself would bring her story come full circle. She already made that decision once in Star Wars Rebels before Ezra Bridger saved her. She could repay the favor by saving Ezra.

Ahsoka Tano's Death Would Prevent Diminishing Returns

Storytellers can get too comfortable with one character and continue to tell their story. Tales of the Jedi suffered from this somewhat and delivered some very lackluster Ahsoka stories. Giving her a proper death ensures that her legacy doesn't get watered down. Letting her die in a stunning fashion would close her chapter of Star Wars in a way that truly honors everything the character has meant to Star Wars fans over the years.

It can be difficult to accept, but all great characters need to have a definitive ending. While that doesn't always mean dying, that is the best option in Ahsoka's case. Ahsoka's death can finally give her peace after fighting every injustice in the galaxy. She can sacrifice herself to save the people that have meant so much to her since she left the Jedi Order. Giving her a great death would make sure that her legacy in Star Wars is worthy of her incredible journey.

Ahsoka expected to premiere in 2023 on Disney+.
