WARNING: The following contains spoilers for American Horror Story: Double Feature Episode 8, "Inside," which aired Wednesday on FX.

American Horror Stoy: Double Feature picks back up in the past -- the time 1963, nine years after the previous episode's flashback. Eisenhower (Neal McDonough) is enjoying another game of gold when future-president Richard Nixon (Craig Sheffer) approaches him about Jack Kennedy (Mike Vogel), the current U.S. president. Nixon worries Kennedy will discover the extraterrestrial secrets but won't be able to handle it because of his democratic views and "Roman Catholic conscience." So, they face the problem head-on, delivering a confidential file containing the information about the aliens to Kennedy directly. The trade-off also reveals the treaty Eisenhower made with the aliens back in 1954: they can abduct 5,000 Americans a year in exchange for advanced technology.

Kennedy is horrified by the news and later confides in Marilyn Monroe (Alisha Soper) on one of their lover's trysts. She encourages him to tell the American people the truth, which is exactly what Eisenhower and Nixon feared. If you smell a rewrite of Kennedy and Marilyn's deaths -- you're right. Not long after, Eisenhower learns of Kennedy's assassination via television. Although he wasn't directly involved in the death, it's clear he feels guilty. However, his wife Mamie (Sarah Paulson) ensures him it's an act of patriotism. Sensing his disagreement, she asks, "If you're so ashamed of this treaty, why did you make it?"

The question prompts another flashback to nine years earlier, where Eisenhower and a military team discuss the alien's terms. The alien Maria (Rebecca Dayan) -- the housewife from "Death Valley's" first episode -- offers them advanced technology, including the ability to avoid radar detection and triple the speed of their electronic devices. It's a tempting offer, especially to beat the Russians in the Space Race. The alien also informs them that its homeworld is dying, so they need to come to Earth. However, there are viruses and toxins they cannot yet combat -- hence the alien abductions to figure that all out. After delivering the information, the alien explodes Maria's head but not before revealing that their first "test subject" failed.

Eisenhower runs to where they were keeping a pregnant Amelia Earhart (Lily Rabe), only to discover she's dead, and her monster newborn attacked everyone in the room. Despite protests, Eisenhower grabs a gun and decides to face the creature head-on and shoots it dead. Back at home, Mamie boasts about her upcoming birthday celebration while Eisenhower's encounter with the alien torments him. When he expresses his doubts about accepting the treaty, Mamie tells him he doesn't really have a choice; if he denies the treaty, the Russians get the extraterrestrial tech instead.

So behind her husband's back, Mamie arranges a meeting with Nixson to fill him in on the situation. Nixon is also hesitant to get involved -- mostly because Eisenhower "doesn't like him" -- but Mamie convinces him it's the best thing for him to do if he ever wants to become president -- which, well, we all know how that works out. Thanks to Mamie's influence, Nixon tries converting Eisenhower by putting a spin on it: they help the aliens, take their technology and then use it against them when the time is right. However, Eisenhower puts two and two together and realizes Maime spilled his secrets to Nixson. At home, he confronts her, only to discover that the alien being that previously occupied Maria now lives inside his wife.

With Eisenhower in between a rock and a hard place, the narrative jumps to the present time. Kendall (Kaia Gerber), Jamie (Rachel Hilson), Cal (Nico Greetham) and Troy (Isaac Powell) are in the car, all feeling like they are about to go into labor. Jamie decides to bring them to her gynecologist to get checked out. While the others hide their pregnancies, Jamie undergoes an ultrasound. After, the doctor reveals two heartbeats and notices something strange. When the doctor runs out of the room panicked, Kendall performs an ultrasound on Troy. However, they are interrupted by some Men in Black looking guys who shoot the gynecologist and abduct the college kids.

American Horror Story Double Feature - Troy

Kendal wakes up levitating in a strange, white room. A masked woman in all white -- who the credits refer to as Theta (Angelica Ross) -- is caring for them. Kendall demands to know what's going on, and Theta tells her they have been chosen to save the future. When Kendall asks how birthing aliens will save Earth, Theta responds, "Who said anything about Earth?" Then, she puts Kendall into a trance-like state, where Steve Jobs (Len Cordova) -- yes, Apple's Steve Jobs -- and a woman named Calico (Leslie Grossman) are chatting at a nearby table. Troy, Cale and Jamie meet back up with Kendall, asking her where she went. Kendall tries explaining to them that she woke up in another room, but Calico approaches and encourages her to forget whatever she saw. Calico then says she's been in this place since 1979. While she says most people are one and done, some are put on the annual plan like her.

The information triggers Troy, who once again asks how the baby will be removed from his body. Met with no answers, he slaps a tray from one of the government-looking worker's hands, prompting him to be restrained, tased and pulled away. Now, strapped to a bed, Troy asks Theta about his pregnancy. However, she only assures him that "life finds its own way" before taking off her mask and revealing her true extraterrestrial form. While there's still a lot of unknowns regarding Troy and Co.'s predicament,  Theta's twisted Jurassic Park-inspired response suggests things aren't looking good for them.

American Horror Story: Double Feature's second segment, "Death Valley," continues. New episodes air each Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET on FX.
