The following contains spoilers for Episode 8 of Aharen-San Is Indecipherable, "Time for the Summer Festival, Huh?", now streaming on Crunchyroll.

Aharen-San Is Indecipherable largely focuses on its student characters -- similar to Kaguya-Sama: Love Is War or Komi Can't Communicate -- but high school anime series like these also find time to explore their settings through the eyes of the teachers or parents too. For example, Aharen-San Episode 8 views the main couple through their teacher, Tobaru Momo.

Tobaru is something of a kuudere herself, a cool and aloof schoolteacher who secretly loves all things romance, especially esteemed couplings and friendships. She can get classic anime nosebleeds from public displays of affection, even if she prepares herself ahead of time. It seems Aharen's and Raido's romance is far from secret -- after all, teachers miss nothing.

In Episode 8, Aharen Reina and her good friend Raido visit the school's roof once again for lunch, where they can exchange morsels as part of their wordless love language. They aren't alone, however. Tobaru and her fellow teacher Miyahara also have lunch up there, and the teachers try to keep out of the students' business. All seems well on the outside, but Tobaru secretly struggles with her own zealous passion for young love. She faces the constant risk of passing out or getting nosebleeds upon seeing Aharen and Raido being wholesome together over lunch.

Then Aharen's dandere friend Oshiro appears, and Tobaru has the same reaction to their charming friendship. Tobaru even tries to get herself used to all this with shojo-style daydreams about Aharen and Raido to get it out of her system, but that does no good.

Later in Episode 8, Tobaru has the exact same reactions upon seeing Aharen, Raido and Oshiro hanging out together, but the three students amazingly fail to notice any of this. Their teacher goes wild with shojo daydreams every time she sees them, but her cool kuudere exterior conceals it. Otherwise, Raido and Aharen might grow self-conscious and could even start avoiding Tobaru entirely. Then again, maybe not -- they've been seen doing goofier things than this before.

The events of Aharen-San Episode 8 build on earlier episodes, when Tobaru was teaching in class and noticed the budding romance between Raido and Aharen at the back of the classroom. Tobaru can spot true love from a mile away but expressing her joy is another matter entirely, and she has no real outlet for her enthusiasm. Hence, she fights hard to keep a straight face in class and, in serious cases, gets powerful nosebleeds after imagining Raido and Aharen as the main lovers of a typical shojo story. This implies a few things.

For one, this suggests a bit of loneliness in Tobaru's life. She does have a solid friendship with Miyahara, which is good, but clearly she is starved of any real romance in her own life. So, she benignly and passionately projects this onto her students, and if they give her an inch, she will take a mile -- all without the students ever knowing.

Tobaru's antics also suggest she'll keep doing all this as a running joke in future episodes and manga chapters. That said, it's unlikely to become a full-blown character arc, such as the teacher being inspired to find a date or act as a matchmaker for Raido and Aharen. Tobaru will most likely be content to watch from the sidelines as Team Romance when Aharen-San Is Indecipherable continues.
