SPOILER WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for "The Honeymoon," the latest episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Philinda fans, rejoice! In "The Honeymoon," the latest episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Melinda May professed her love to Phil Coulson. She spilled the beans during an argument with him, in which she challenged him on the reckless decisions he has made in the past few episodes.

After they returned to the Lighthouse, May pulled Coulson aside, but not for the talk Coulson assumed they would have. "We need to talk about FitzSimmons and Yo-Yo. If they really believe they can't be killed --" he started.

"That's not the conversation we're having right now," she interjected.

"Oh. Then what conversation are we having right now?" he asked.

"The one where you explain all the stupid decisions you've been making recently... Giving yourself up to Hale was a mistake," she replied. Disgruntled, he asked what she wanted him to do, to which she said, "I don't know! Stall her long enough for me to get to the cockpit. You hold on while I throw the plane into a vertical dive, maybe knock out Creel... My point is you didn't even try. You just rolled over without a fight."

They continued to argue about the consequences of his actions, including Deke's critical injury and Daisy's first outing as team leader. This built up to the topic of Coulson's impending death. "You're being irresponsible. You said you're not in a hurry to die, but you're not acting like it," she brought up.

"So this isn't so much about my stupidity as it is about me dying," he retorted.

"Seems like one thing led to the other," she snapped.

"You realize this isn't easy for me, but I've accepted it," he said, to which she replied, "Which is the problem."

"Maybe I'm reckless. But if this is the end, better to go out doing something that matters," he explained.

"No. You don't get to make that decision alone. That decision is made with the people who love you, and that's me. I love you," she said as she walked away from him. "I thought that would shut you up."

Though their conversation ended there, the show has been building to this moment for quite some time now. In Season 4, Coulson even kissed the Life Model Decoy (LMD) version of May, just before he realized what she truly was. Since the LMD was created using May's personality and memory, this implied that May truly had romantic feelings for Coulson. When he eventually met up with the real May again, he never brought up that he kissed the LMD version of her.

May wasn't the only character who revealed her true feelings this episode. Deke also confessed his crush on Daisy, albeit a little less eloquently. When he came around after his surgery, the pain medication spurred him to ask about Daisy. "Is Daisy here? She's so pretty. I want to put my mouth on her mouth and move it around a lot, but I don't want to do that unless she wants to too because that's what makes it nice," he said to Mack and Piper. "But I don't think she wants that because she does not like me one bit."
