As Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. heads into its final season, ABC released striking portraits of the Marvel Television show's lead characters.
In keeping with Season 7's mission, which sends the team on a time-travel adventure to multiple eras in the past, the eight images are in black-and-white. The headshots show Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Chloe Bennet as Daisy "Quake" Johnson, Iain De Caestecker as Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Hentsridge as Jemma Simmons, Henry Simmons as Alphonso "Mack" Mackenzie, Ming-Na Wen as Melinda May, Jeff Ward as Deke Shaw and Natalia Cordova-Buckley as Elena "Yo-Yo" Rodriguez.
The teaser trailers for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. have sent the team to 1930s New York, where they will try to preserve the existence of the agency -- a duty that also means saving its rival, the terrorist organization Hydra.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which debuted in 2013, revived Coulson after he died in 2012's The Avengers. After Captain America: The Winter Soldier revealed S.H.I.E.L.D. had been infiltrated at all levels by Hydra agents for many years, the show rebuilt the spy organization under Coulson's leadership.
Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. stars Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Henry Simmons, Iain De Caestecker, Natalia Cordova-Buckley, Elizabeth Henstridge and Clark Gregg. Season 7 premieres Wednesday, May 27 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
