When Does Agents of SHIELD Return on ABC?

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 5 is taking a short break. Following the conclusion of the season's first storyline, the show will go on a four-week hiatus and return for its midseason premiere on Friday, March 2 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.

The 11th episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 5 will be a homecoming of sorts. Director Phil Coulson and the rest of his team have spent the past 10 episodes in the far-flung future of 2091, where they discovered Earth had been destroyed -- and by one of their own, no less. In their future and 2091's past, Daisy "Quake" Johnson allegedly cracked the world apart with her powers. Though she fought against it, she and her fellow S.H.I.E.L.D. agents went back through the monolith to the present, where they will immediately have to deal with the fallout of Season 4.

Per the promo for "All the Comforts of Home," the midseason premiere, all of Coulson's team made it back to the present. However, in their absence, they have become some of the most wanted criminals in the United States. This is the consequence of the "LMD" storyline from Season 4, where a Life Model Decoy posed as Daisy and shot Brigadier General Colonel Glenn Talbot in the head, critically wounding -- but not killing -- him. Unsurprisingly, no one bought S.H.I.E.L.D.'s story that an incredibly lifelike robot did the deed. So, when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 5 returns, Coulson's team will be out of the pan and into the fire.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s midseason premiere will introduce Dove Cameron as a character called Ruby, who has an obsession with Quake; she is also the daughter of General Hale, who executed her two subordinates for allowing Fitz and Lance to escape in "Rewind."

The episode will also lead into the show's 100th episode, which bows on Friday, March 9. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Henry Simmons, who plays Mack, described the 100th episode as "a payoff for many people," while Yo-Yo actor Natalia Cordova-Buckley revealed that "something really special happens."

Returning Friday, March 2 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 5 stars Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Henry Simmons, Ian De Caestecker, Natalia Cordova-Buckley and Elizabeth Henstridge.
