  • In Izel and Pachakutiq, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. created an original villain for its Season 6 storyline. 1 / 14

  • However, Pachakutiq bears an uncanny resemblance to Ord, an Astonishing X-Men villain. 2 / 14

  • Hailing from the planet Breakworld, Ord was sent to Earth to stamp out the mutant threat. 3 / 14

  • He boasted powers like enhanced strength, durability and durance, and he was also a master of bladed weapons. 4 / 14

  • While their missions certainly aren't the same, Ord and Pachakutiq have similar power sets. 5 / 14

  • Additionally, both rely on bladed weapons and have it out for a group of weary do-gooders. 6 / 14

  • Pachakutiq's true form has green-mottled, fleshy skin and a metallic set of fangs. 7 / 14

  • Ord also has green-gray skin and a gray, metallic bar across his face. 8 / 14

  • However, these similarities are probably just a happy accident. 9 / 14

  • Asked if Ord was an inspiration for Pachakutiq, showrunner Jed Whedon mused, "Yes, but maybe not." 10 / 14

  • "We work with visual effects and concept artists," added EP Jeff Bell, "Basically [they] show us stuff..." 11 / 14

  • "...and we go, 'That's cool! But maybe the jaw, maybe those fangs shouldn't be so huge.'" 12 / 14

  • "But again, if it's too much, then we can't do it, because X-Men..." 13 / 14

  • "...we're not allowed to even say the word mutant, let alone X-Men." 14 / 14
