Over the course of seven seasons, the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. have wielded many unique weapons. Perhaps the most unique-and outlandish-is the shotgun axe wielded by Alfonso "Mack" Mackenzie, played by Henry Simmons. Now as the final season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D starts airing, Simmons has revealed that he now owns his own shotgun axe, courtesy of production.

In an interview with Collider, Simmons explained how he acquired the shotgun axe after being asked what he wanted-- the shotgun axe, "But they weren't able to give it to me, for whatever reason." He then recalled months going by before being offered the axe, "I got a call and they said, 'Henry, is this your address?' I was like, 'Yeah, that's me.' And they said, 'Okay, we wanna send you something... And then, about two days later, I had a shotgun axe delivered to me."

Mack first wielded the shotgun axe in the season three finale of S.H.I.E.L.D., while battling Inhuman Primitives. The season had essentially built up to its appearance in the premiere episode, when Mack mentioned that he would need a bigger gun or an axe. He has continued to use the weapon throughout the series.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s final season airs Wednesdays at 10 pm ET/PT on ABC. The series stars Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Henry Simmons, Iain De Caestecker, Natalia Cordova-Buckley, Elizabeth Henstridge and Clark Gregg.
