"The Asset," the October 8 episode of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." got a significant ratings boost post-live airing.

Although "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s" live numbers have dropped from its record-breaking pilot episode, it seems that TV playback has added a huge ratings bump for the Marvel Television series. According to a press release from ABC, the third episode of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." got a 52% ratings bump in the Live + 3 Day ratings, jumping to 4.4 in the 18-49 demo (up from its 2.9 in the Live + Same Day ratings) and added 3.1 million viewers, increasing the show's total viewership to 11 million total. With playback ratings and viewership taken into account across the board for Tuesday night shows, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." was the #1 show of the night in terms of ratings, moving past both "The Voice" (3.3) and "NCIS" (3.6).

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s" ratings bump from Live + 3 Day numbers is certainly an indication of how the 18-49 demographic views television, and while ABC did not release hard numbers on which services and/or playback options were measured -- like DVR, Hulu, ABC.com or the ABC iOS app -- the numbers indicate that a decent number of viewers catch up with the series after its already aired. ABC certainly has faith in the series -- the network ordered a full season of the Marvel Cinematic Universe series last week.

Airing Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC, "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." stars Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Agent Grant Ward, Chloe Bennet as Skye, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz and Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons.
