SPOILER WARNING: This article contain major spoilers for "Fun and Games," the latest episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

FitzSimmons fans, rejoice! In "Fun and Games," the latest episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the fan-favorite couple got engaged. As soon as they saw each other for the first time this season, they agreed that they couldn't wait any longer to spend the rest of their lives together.

Of course, in typical FitzSimmons fashion, the proposal didn't quite go as planned. Fitz made a beeline for Simmons the second he laid eyes on her on Kasius' palace, but tried to play it cool so that he wouldn't look suspicious. Telling her not to turn around, he said, "I've missed you so much. You know, I spent six months locked up in an off-the-books military prison, not mention 80 years frozen in space, all just hoping to find you. Here you are. You know, I realized something. The universe can't stop us, because we have crossed galaxies, we have traveled through time, we have survived the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean just so we can be together. Now, a love like that -- that is stronger than any curse. And you and I? We are unstoppable together. I don't want to live another day without you. So Jemma Simmons, will you marry me?"

As beautiful a proposal as it was, there was one small problem: Kasius had limited Simmons' hearing. That being the case, she hadn't heard a word he said. Though he managed to strike a deal with Kasius to get her hearing back, Fitz didn't have a chance to propose again -- but only because she beat him to the punch.

During the climax of the episode, Quake attacked Kasius and his gallery, distracting them long enough for Simmons to slash Kasius' face with a knife. As Fitz opened fire on everyone else, she leapt out of the box and down into the fighting arena. Fitz followed soon after, just before the shield went up and cut the gallery off from the arena.

"I'm never leaving you again," he said as he joined her, and they shared a passionate kiss.

"Then marry me, Fitz!" she responded, to which he said, "Absolutely."

Fitz and Simmons have had a rather complicated relationship. Fitz spent some time pining over Simmons, which culminated in him revealing his feeling to her. However, she didn't reciprocate -- at least, not yet. Shortly after, a Kree monolith sent her to the planet Maveth. Fitz risked life and limb to save her and managed to pull her back through to Earth. They began dating soon after that; their relationship progressed quickly, and the two began looking for an apartment together.

The Aida LMD threw a wrench in that plan by abducting them all and putting them in the Framework, where she erased his memories of Simmons and began to date him. He regained those memories when he left the Framework, but Simmons was abducted and sent to the year 2091 without him almost immediately thereafter. Now, FitzSimmons faces one more challenge: get back to their proper time period so they can finally make the long trip down the aisle.
