Descendants alum Dove Cameron will join the cast of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for the show's fifth season. On social media, Cameron announced her S.H.I.E.L.D. role with some help from Clark Gregg's Phil Coulson.
The news was later confirmed by the official Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Twitter account, which welcomed the Descendants actress. The short video, which you can see below, doesn't offer any indication as to who Cameron may be playing; however, it would appear she's working closely with Coulson and the rest of the S.H.I.E.L.D. gang, as he pulls her away before she can spill any secrets. It's currently unknown if Cameron will appear in a recurring role or as a series regular.
Cameron is best known for her roles as Liv and Maddie in the Disney television series of the same name. She also appeared as Mal in the two Descendants television movies. She is coming off of Dumplin', which also stars Jennifer Aniston and Odeya Rush.
Premiering Friday, Dec. 1, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC, the fifth season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. stars Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Henry Simmons, Ian De Caestecker, Natalia Cordova-Buckley, Elizabeth Henstridge, Nick Blood, Jeff Ward, Eve Harlow, Pruitt Taylor Vince and Coy Stewart.
