Dove Cameron's mysterious character Ruby just debuted in a new clip from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s midseason premiere.

Unlike her mother General Hale, who wants to bring S.H.I.E.L.D. down once and for all, Ruby is a diehard Quake fan; she even has a poster of Quake on her wall, as seen in the clip below. In Cameron's casting announcement, she was described as being obsessed with Quake and -- considering she also has questions about her mom's disposition towards S.H.I.E.L.D. -- that obsession may impact upcoming episodes.

When we last saw Coulson and his team, they used a Kree monolith to return to the present day, where they've got a whole mess of problems waiting for them. One of those problems is the General Hale -- and, by extension, her teenage daughter Ruby. How Ruby fits into the larger narrative for the season remains to be seen.

Now that they're back in the present, the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents will have to avoid everything that could lead to the destruction of the planet, and that may mean letting Phil Coulson die.

Returning this Friday, March 2 on ABC, Marvel's Agents of SHIELD stars Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Elizabeth Henstridge, Iain De Caestecker, Henry Simmons, Natalia Cordova-Buckley, and Jeff Ward.
