The former director of S.H.I.E.L.D. is possibly set to reclaim his title -- kind of.
During a recent Reddit AMA session, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Clark Gregg revealed he may step behind the camera to direct an episode in the upcoming fifth season of the drama. That is, "if I don't pass out from exhaustion just thinking about it."
While known for his role within the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Agent Phil Coulson, Gregg has made a name for himself behind the camera. He has written and directed films such as Choke, based on the Chuck Palahniuk novel of the same name, and Trust Me. He has also written the screenplay for What Lies Beneath, directed by Robert Zemeckis, who's reportedly the frontrunner for DC's The Flash. Given his impressive resume, moving behind the camera on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. seems like a natural progression for Gregg. Of course, nothing is set in stone yet.
We'll have to wait and see if Gregg decides to tackle the director gig until later this year when production officially begins on the otherworldly fifth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which will see the series not only move to space, but also to a new Thursday time slot beginning in January.
