Djimon Hounsou spoke with Collider about his decision to take the role of Korath the Pursuer in the upcoming film and how it relates to his son's recognition of the lack of superhero diversity.
"The lack of diversity, specifically in genre films and the superheroes our kids grow up watching and emulating, they can't really identify with," Hounsou told Collider. "When you see the same thing, over and over again, and it seems not to speak of you and your heritage and your culture, it leaves you out of this world, a little bit. It gives a certain social distance with your world. So, it was very shocking when my son said that. It shocked me, but at the same time, it was not a surprise. It's one of those things that even I have been looking for. I'm looking for a hero of my kind, and I'm looking for a shero of my kind. Now, we have Zoe Saldana, who is a shero for minorities, and that's kind of nice."

IAmRogue spoke with director D.J. Caruso about a number of subjects, including the current status of the long-awaited "Preacher" film adaptation.
"I'm still attached to 'Preacher' and we're wrestling with Sony because I got another movie at Sony called 'Invertigo,' which is a big action film we're trying to get going this summer," Caruso told IAmRogue. "So 'Preacher' got put on the back burner, but we're still involved with 'Preacher' and hopefully we'll have some good news on that soon. Todd August wrote a great script. I think it's one of those features that has to kind of go through the studio system if it's going to be made for a certain price. So we're kind of revisiting a way to approach making the movie in the right way."
