The stars of "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" will present Robert Downey Jr. with the MTV Generation Award April 12 at the 2015 MTV Movie Awards.

Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and Jeremy Renner will be on hand at the live ceremony, broadcast from the Nokia Theater L.A. Live in Los Angeles.

Considered the Movie Awards' highest honor, the MTV Generation Award is presented to actors who have engaged the MTV audience throughout their career. Previous recipients include Tom Cruise, Jim Carrey, Johnny Depp, Sandra Bullock and Jamie Foxx.

“Throughout his career, Robert Downey Jr. has mesmerized audiences by capturing the humanity in larger-than-life characters like Charlie Chaplin, Sherlock Holmes and Tony Stark,” MTV President Stephen Friedman said in a statement. “He’s a brilliant actor and a Hollywood icon, and we are proud to recognize his tremendous passion and talent with this year’s Generation Award.”
