Agatha: Coven of Chaos may be at least partially set in Westview, NJ -- the same town where WandaVision took place.

The story was broken by the Illuminerdi, who reported that Agatha: Coven of Chaos will return to Westview. According to the site, "The show seemingly picks up where WandaVision left off, as Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) will be freed from Wanda’s spell, which imprisoned her in her Westview persona, Agnes. Most interestingly our sources stated that she is freed by a new Coven of Witches. Aubrey Plaza is one of them and according to some casting details it can be assumed that Ali Ahn is also part of them."

Character and plot details for Coven of Chaos are largely unknown at this time. In addition to Plaza and Ahn, new cast members of the show include Sasheer Zamata, Eric Andre, Maria Dizzia and Joe Locke. Locke's role has been described as "a gay teen with a dark sense of humor," leading some to believe he's playing Billy Maximoff, one of Wanda's sons who in the comics becomes the mystical teenage superhero Wiccan. Indeed, the Illuminerdi added that Billy will return to Westview as a high school student and will be a person of interest to the new coven. Billy was previously played by Julian Hillard in WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

The Minds Behind the Agatha Harkness Series

As for those working behind the camera, Coven of Chaos will see the return of Jac Schaeffer as a writer and director on the series, after having acted as the head writer for WandaVision. Another WandaVision veteran, Megan McDonnell, will also be in the writer's room, while Gandja Monteiro will direct some of the episodes. The series is set to be a nine-episode miniseries and, according to actor Emma Caufield Ford (who will reprise her role as Westview resident Sarah Proctor/Dottie Jones), will begin filming soon.

In addition to Coven of Chaos, Marvel is developing another WandaVision spinoff, Vision Quest, which is said to "be about The Vision (Paul Bettany) trying to regain his memory and humanity" after his death at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War and resurrection by S.W.O.R.D. in WandaVision. Schaeffer will also act as head writer for the new spin-off. Additionally, it's believed Elizabeth Olsen could return as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, despite her character having met her apparent demise in Multiverse of Madness.

Agatha: Coven of Chaos is set to premiere in late 2023 on Disney+.
