Marvel Studios' Agatha: Coven of Chaos will start production very soon.

As confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter, the WandaVision spinoff's first day of filming will be Tuesday, January 17. It will be shot once again in Atlanta, Georgia. Joining showrunner Jac Schaeffer in the director's chair for Coven of Chaos are Gandja Monteiro (Wednesday) and Rachel Goldberg (A Friend of the Family), though it's unknown how many of the series' nine episodes will be shot by each director.

Originally titled Agatha: House of Harkness, the show's title change to Coven of Chaos was announced by Kevin Feige at last year's San Diego Comic-Con Hall H panel. The Disney+ show will reunite Kathryn Hahn's Agatha with a number of WandaVision alumni, including Debra Jo Rupp, Emma Caulfield Ford, David Payton, David Lengel, Asif Ali, Amos Glick, Brian Brightman and Kate Forbes. This backs up a report suggesting Coven of Chaos will return to Westview, New Jersey where, in WandaVision's finale, Wanda Maximoff trapped Agatha inside the persona of her "Agnes" sitcom character. The report also mentioned the possible return of Wanda's now-teenaged son Billy Maximoff -- known in the comics as Billy Kaplan -- describing him as "a person of interest for the new Coven of Witches."

Agatha: Coven of Chaos May Help Build the MCU's Young Avengers

Should Billy join Coven of Chaos, it will mark the Marvel Cinematic Universe's latest allusion to the Young Avengers team roster. In addition to Billy (i.e. Wiccan) and his brother Tommy/Speed in WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Phase 4 also saw the debut of Young Avengers members America Chavez, Elijah Bradley and Kate Bishop in various films and Disney+ series. A teenage version of Cassie Lang originally appeared in Phase 3's Avengers: Endgame, but was recast from Emma Fuhrmann to Kathryn Newton for the upcoming Phase 5 movie Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The only core Young Avenger character yet to appear in the MCU is Teddy Altman/Hulkling, a half-Kree/half-Skrull shapeshifter and Billy's husband in the comics.

One new addition to Coven of Chaos is Legion's Aubrey Plaza, whose character will have a "really pivotal role" in Agatha's story. On why she joined the cast, Plaza admitted she did it to work with Hahn again, stating, "We shared a couple moments onscreen in Parks and Recreation 10 years ago, but I've never gotten to work with her, really. She's one of the most incredible actresses that's working today." While Wanda's MCU future remains ambiguous, Marvel confirmed last October that Paul Bettany will star in a new Vision spinoff titled Vision Quest.
