It appears that Ben Affleck will have one last hurrah as Batman in the Flash solo film, Flashpoint, but director Matt Reeves plans to recast the role for the character's own solo feature, tentatively titled The Batman.

In the wake of Justice League's disappointing turn at the box office, Variety is reporting that Warner Bros. will restructure its DC Films operations. It also appears that Ben Affleck's days as the Dark Knight are numbered.

According to reporter Brent Lang, Affleck is expected to appear as Batman in the standalone Flash film, but "it is highly unlikely he will don the cape and cowl in Matt Reeves’ planned standalone Batman movie." Lang's sources suggest that "the director is said to want to cast the role with fresh talent, according to sources."

This is just the latest rumor regarding The Batman, with El Fanboy previously claiming that Affleck would be replaced by Jake Gyllenhaal. Considering the current belief is that the Flash movie will be an adaptation of Flashpoint, where Thomas Wayne became Batman and Bruce died, it's hard to see how exactly Affleck will fit into the film outside of a cameo appearance.
